Description
Faience amulet in the form of a hare, 600-400 B.C., Egyptian, Clay, Glazed, depicted seated on a rectangular base with paws out in front and ears swept back.
Amulets representing animals were attributed to a deity; a hawk fro Ra, the Sun God, a lion for Sakhmi, the Goddess of War, a ram for Khnum and a cat for Bast.
This piece is set in 14K yellow gold and designed by Walker Christopher Goldsmiths Ltd.
