Description
These coins are Roman silver denarii, minted during the reign of Hadrian, A.D. 117-138 and Gordian II, 238 AD to 244 AD. The obverse of the first coin shows a portrait of Hadrian facing right. The obverse of the second coin shows a portrait of Gordian II, facing right.
Gordian II was a Roman Emperor from 238 AD to 244 AD. At the age of 13, he became the youngest sole legal Roman Emperor throughout the existence of the united Roman Empire. Gordian was the son of Antonia Gordiana and an unnamed Roman Senator who died before 238.
