Description
BAY GRAPE
(Coccoloba uvifera) The Bay Grape (also known as the Sea Grape) is commonly found in Bermuda near beach edges, providing shade and preventing erosion. The large, round leathery leaves are resistant to salt so they are well-suited to Bermuda’s climate. In summer, the Bay Grape bears purplish fruit in large grape-like clusters. Many locals use this fruit to make an excellent jam.
