TUCKER CROSS
STERLING SILVER BERMUDA ICONS
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of our Christmas Ornament Collection, we are honoring an iconic piece of shipwreck treasure found in the waters of Bermuda and the man who discovered it, Mr. Teddy Tucker. His most famous find, the Tucker Cross, is considered one of the most valuable pieces of sunken treasure ever found. The emerald studded 22 and a half-carat gold cross was discovered in 1955 on the wreck of the -San Pedro-, a Spanish ship lost on the perilous reefs of Bermuda in 1595. Teddy Tucker wanted the cross to remain on Bermuda forever. However in 1975 as Bermuda was preparing for a visit by Queen Elizabeth II, it was discovered that the Tucker Cross had been stolen and a cheap replica left in its place. Sadly, it has never been recovered.
